Location
The festival will take place at the Hochkogelhaus, and, as mentioned before, the hike to the venue takes roughly 2-2.5 hours. You can see the exact location on the map here.

We suggest you save this PDF before you start the hike (in case you lose internet connection at any point on your way up)
Arrival by Car:
The best way to get to the Hoote Festival on Hochkogelhhaus is by car. Drive to the Schwarzenbach car park (just enter it in Google Maps). There you can park your car for free and start the hike.
From there, follow the lively signs to the Hochkogelhaus via the Mittereckerstüberl. (Total walking time is about 2.5 hours).
Attention: You can send your bags with a cable car (located in the restaurant) only after one hour of walk, so please pack smart.
Arrival by Train (coming from Vienna):
Drive to “Ebensee Landungsplatz” station.
From there you can take the Traunsee taxi to the “Dielleiten” stop. From there you walk straight across the “Schwarzenbach” car park and then to the “Hochkogelhaus” as described above.
When arriving by train, please note that the Traunstein Taxi must be called 1 hour before departure. The phone number: 0043-504221691.
The price is 6EUR per person.
Equipment list
We suggest you bring the following essentials:
- Comfortable shoes (for the hike)
- Sleeping bag
- Towel
- Warm clothing
- Water for the hike
- Cash
Please note that in case that you would like to send your backpack by cable car, there is a restaurant on the way, after 50 minutes walk, where you can ask them to send your bag.
Please notice that the cable car drives only three times a day – at 10:00, at 17:00 and at 20:00. The cost is 5EUR per bag, which will be paid in the Hut once you receive your bag.
Food & Drinks
Your ticket includes 2 open breakfast buffets on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00.
Additionally, Food and drinks (also alcoholic, and sweets, of course!) will be offered during the festival. Please bring enough cash with you, as the vouchers will be sold by cash only.

Payment
Please present your prepaid QR code at the entrance and pay an additional sum of 50EUR (in cash, preferably) to receive your entry ticket.
People without a prepaid ticket, who will arrive without any agreement in advance, will not be able to participate in the festival. We’d like to emphasize this once again – an order alone, without the personal prepaid QR code, does not allow entrance!
Please be aware that sleeping places inside will be provided on a first-come-first-served basis, except of those who registered with a tent!
Additional information
- Gates will be opened at 5pm on Friday (August 26th).
- Food, drinks, toilets and a shower are available on-site.
- Please respect the people and the place (and keep it clean).
- The signal on the mountain is low. Hence, the credit card machine is unstable, please bring enough cash with you.
- You are responsible for your own safety.
